French Foreign Minister Jean-Louis Le Duran said on Thursday that the presence of his country's "main" forces in Iraq was "very little".
"France will pull its troops out of Syria when a political solution to the armed conflict has been reached since 2011," Le Derrion told CNews television.
"We have a small presence in Syria, of course, when a political solution is found, we will get out of there," he said.
According to Le Derrian, Russia is responsible for the political solution to the conflict in Syria. "Russia has taken responsibility, intervened in the situation in Syria and continues to support Bashar al-Assad, so it has political responsibility until Syria reaches a political, not military, solution to avoid the use of chemical weapons," he said.
Under the pretext of combating terrorism and confronting a "da'ash" organization in Iraq and Syria, the United States and its allies have deployed military forces in Syria and Iraq, media reports say.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Louis Laudrian said on Thursday that his country would withdraw militarily from Syria when a "political solution" is reached in the country.
"We are in Iraq, and they are modestly present in Syria alongside the Americans," Ludrian told French television channel "CNEWS".
The presence of French special forces in Syria is rarely recognized by the French authorities.
"Certainly when a political solution is reached, we will pull out," he said.
The French foreign minister also welcomed the apparent "change" of the position of US President Donald Trump on withdrawing from Syria.
After hastily announcing in December that 2,000 US troops would be withdrawn from Syria, he reiterated that the withdrawal would be "at an appropriate pace" for the situation.
"Today (Trump) announces that the withdrawal will take place more slowly ... This is probably due to the multiple pressures on him, including the French pressure." President Emmanuel Macaron spoke to him several times and he seems to be moving towards a positive change, .
Paris is deploying 1,200 troops within the framework of the International Alliance against Terrorism through air operations, artillery, special forces in Syria and training courses for the Iraqi army.
The French government, however, considers it difficult to completely eliminate the organization of "Dahesh" on the ground without the support of the United States, which carried out 90% of air operations against the organization.
The French Foreign Minister also stressed on Thursday the need to ensure "the security of the Kurds, our best allies, at the international level in their fight against the people who will be directly threatened in the event of an American withdrawal."
France fears the return of European extremists, especially the French, who are detained by the Kurds in north-eastern Syria, to their country and wants to be tried immediately.
Cord stressed Syria's inability to ensure that these extremists are detained and tried in the event of a Turkish attack.
It is also likely that the regime will regain control of territory under Kurdish administration if the Americans withdraw.
"In northeastern Syria, we are still at war, even if President Trump announced a gradual withdrawal of US forces," he said. "It will also be necessary to look at reassuring solutions to ensure that these people are tried."
