Insurance losses from California forest fires rose to $ 11.4 billion 12664

California - California's insurance industry said on Monday that the deadliest and most devastating forest fires in 100 years had cost insurance companies more than $ 11.4 billion.
State Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara told reporters at a media gathering that the total amount of November insurance compensation for the Camp Fire Fire, which destroyed most of the northern California town of Paradise, rose 25 percent.
Of the more than 46,000 applications submitted by insurance owners, more than 13,000 homes and businesses were destroyed.
Lara said the figures "are unprecedented ... these are huge numbers for us."
Forest fires in November with other fires in the state raised insurance losses in 2018 to $ 12.4 billion.
Eighty-nine people were killed in the Campfire fire while thousands became homeless.
