The leader of the coalition of "national" Iyad Allawi on Thursday stressed his refusal to turn Iraq into a battleground between the United States and Iran, urging the federal government to study the third generation of terrorism.
"We do not want Iraq to be the center of the conflict between America and Iran," Allawi told a news conference in Baghdad today.
"We have a fierce war with terrorism that has destroyed many Arab countries," he said, calling on the Iraqi government to examine and study the third generation of terrorism that came after Al Qaeda and Hadash, and "recognize the existence of this generation.
Allawi said that "America has allocated funds to fight this generation."
