According to Sky News, the anti-terrorist police in the West Midlands area of Birmingham are investigating the "big hammer" attacks overnight.
Police said they moved after reports of a man smashing a heavy hammer at the windows of a mosque on Birchfield Street at 2:30 am, and when its personnel arrived, they learned that the attack took place earlier than the time the letter was received.
Forty-two minutes later, police received another alert about a similar attack on a mosque in nearby Ardington.
British police have stepped up patrols throughout the city, and officers have also discovered more damage to a number of mosques that have been attacked in the areas of Witten Road, Aston and Bree Bar.
And began another investigation after trading images showing broken windows in the mosque and the Islamic Center, which are located in Aston.
The motive for the attacks remains unknown, but police believe they are linked.
Police officers began collecting evidence and checking records of surveillance cameras in areas of mosques attacked.
Commenting on what happened in Birmingham, British Home Secretary Sajid Javed chanted "I am deeply saddened and saddened to see the Birmingham mosques vandalized overnight."
"Police are investigating, but let me be clear that hateful behavior has no place in our society and we will not overturn it."
Adel Barker, of Birmingham's mosque council, described the attacks as "horrific," pointing out that he was "not surprised by what happened."
