    The Iraqi government is sending delegations and letters to Iran, the United States and Europe as part of efforts to preserve stability in the region and the world, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Saturday.
    This came during his meeting today with the Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Heiko Mach and his accompanying delegation.
    "I am satisfied with the development of Iraqi-German relations and the economic, cultural, security, regional understandings and the continuation of the fight against terrorism and its effects have been reached during his recent visit to Berlin," he said.
    He stressed "the need to implement bilateral agreements and put them into practice," referring to the "satisfaction of the Iraqi people to the cooperation between the two countries and his confidence in Germany as a friend country and its industries and products."
    "We are committed to any effort that serves the stability of the region and the world. We are working on this and we are communicating with the European Union countries. We send delegations and letters to Tehran, Washington and Europe in this regard," the statement was quoted as saying.   
    For his part, the German foreign minister stressed "his country's support for the balanced role of Iraq in the region, which is becoming more important in light of the regional developments and the current Iranian-American crisis." He expressed Germany's deep concern and keen interest in the stability of the region and his intention to visit Tehran in the coming days.
