The US dollar fell for a third consecutive session while still under pressure from expectations that the Federal Reserve will begin cutting interest rates at its Monetary Policy Committee meeting later this month.
The dollar index , which measures the value of the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, fell 0.25 percent to 96.811 and recorded its biggest one-day loss in more than three weeks against the yen, Japan and the Swiss franc.
The greenback was also weak against the euro, which rose 0.2 percent to $ 1.1270.
