The Prime Minister of the armed forces, Adel Abdul Mahdi, has established a force of 32,000 troops to prevent the recurrence of the 2018 scenario in Basra, the Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar reported in a report published Thursday.
The newspaper quoted Iraqi security sources as saying that "there is the possibility of the entry of some of the tramps on the line of mobility of wisdom, which will disturb the demonstrations."
The newspaper pointed out that "the Iraqi political forces advised Hakim, at the meeting of senior leaders last (days ago), the need to postpone popular gatherings, in the interest of stability."
The sources added that "the Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, established a force called (maintaining the system), consisting of 34 thousand soldiers from various security forces, to prevent the recurrence of the Basra scenario 2018."
