    A member of the parliamentary security and defense committee Abbas Sarout, on Sunday, the presence of more than 500 thousand foreign workers in Iraq, stressing the need for scrutiny by the security services.
    Sarout told the National News Center NNC, that "the Security and Defense Committee discussed the issue of foreign labor because it affects unemployment in Iraq," noting that "there are more than 500 thousand foreign workers inside Iraq, especially in tourism."
    He stressed the importance of "there is scrutiny in the foreign arrivals of workers and determine the employment in Iraq."
    He stressed that "the Committee on Security and Defense directed security services and trade unions competent to audit foreign workers," pointing out that "some foreign workers entered Iraq illegally and this could affect national security."
    The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Bassem Abdul Zaman, announced last month the presence of more than 750 thousand foreign workers in Iraq.
