Parliamentary source: Parliament is waiting to send a draft new election law

A parliamentary source announced that the House of Representatives is waiting to send a draft new [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/3100/%D9%82%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%88%D9%86 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%86%D8%AA%D8%AE%D8%A7%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%AA]electoral law[/url] , after completion in the presidency, while consultations are continuing to unify the vision on the draft law in preparation for its passage.
The source said: "The basic principles contained in the electoral law proposed by the [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/992/%D8%B1%D8%A6%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%85%D9%87%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A9]Presidency of the Republic,[/url] which was sent to the Council of Ministers, includes the formation of an independent commission of specialized sectoral bodies away from partisan [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , and reduce the electoral district to the judiciary after the province was one."
He added: "The law provides for the adoption of the system of the highest winner of the candidates and the abolition of existing laws and proportional representation, while reducing the number of members of the House of Representatives to 213 and give young people the opportunity to stand for election by reducing the age of nomination to 25 years."
