    Economist Safwan Qusay called for Iraq's economic path not to be affected by its positions in support of the Palestinian cause.
    Qusay said in a press interview seen by “Taqaddam” that “Iraq must carry out the process of isolating its position on the Palestinian issue and its economic relations, especially with Western countries, and we must differentiate between countries and the companies affiliated with them and preserve their interests in Iraq, because the public interest requires that".
    He added, “Disrupting the direction of investment towards Iraqi lands, through a direct or indirect threat to those interests, means that Iraq will return to the category of leaving investments and being a dangerous region, which means increasing the level of unemployment, poverty, and isolation from the world.”
    He continued, "These problems are not new to the region and have regional and international connections. It is necessary for voices in support of stopping involvement in this conflict that the region is witnessing, because Iraq has suffered from these situations for years. The Iraqi government is also supposed to adopt a unified discourse and not allow statements." Different countries may go in extreme directions, because this matter harms economic interests,” indicating that “there are countries that support the process of Iraq entering the circle of conflict, in order to end the file of foreign investment in Iraq.”
    Qusay stressed “the necessity of dealing with the current crisis with two speeches. The first is directed towards the Iraqi interest in dealing with international companies in a fruitful way, and the second is the position in support of the Palestinian people’s cause, which calls for stopping the conflict and not inflaming it. Iraq must be within the circle of international and Arab positions away from any “Convulsion puts the Iraqi economy in danger.”
