    Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani confirmed on Thursday that relations with Azerbaijan are witnessing significant development, while the Azerbaijani government expressed its readiness to receive Iraqi students to study in military academies at its expense. 
    The media office of the Prime Minister said, in a statement received by Al-Eqtisad News, that the latter received, today, the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Rashad Nabiyev, who is visiting Iraq to participate in the third meeting of the Joint Iraqi-Azerbaijani Committee, accompanied by a delegation of Azerbaijani businessmen.
    During the meeting, according to the statement, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and mutual cooperation was strengthened in the fields of energy, education, communications, infrastructure, housing, and defense industries.
    Al-Sudani pointed to the relations between the two friendly countries, which are witnessing tangible steps, referring to the Strategic Development Road Project, which will contribute to achieving economic development for the region and the world. His Excellency also touched on the events in Gaza, and praised the position of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in activating Article 99 of the Charter. The United Nations, calling on Islamic countries to support this initiative.
    For his part, the guest minister conveyed to the Prime Minister the greetings of the Azerbaijani President, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and his country’s desire to develop bilateral relations with Iraq, and the aspiration for the involvement of major Azerbaijani companies in the Iraqi economy. He also stressed his country’s readiness to receive Iraqi students to study in military academies at the expense of the Azerbaijani government. .
