The Health Insurance Authority has prepared a plan to include one million beneficiaries early next May.
The Authority’s spokesman, Dr. Ihab al-Halafi, told “Al-Sabah”: The Authority has begun registering for retirees in Baghdad Governorate and those with autism who wish to be included in the health insurance program, noting that work has begun providing services to beneficiaries by performing surgical operations in special wards that have been rehabilitated and consulting and dental clinics from All categories previously included. He pointed out that there are 22 outlets for granting notebooks to those registered in the Authority’s services for the purposes of health review as a first stage, in addition to the spread of 30 teams in the ministries to grant those notebooks, not to mention the registration process that took place through the “Ur” electronic platform. Al-Halafi indicated that there is a plan for the second phase of the project to expand the category from 300,000 to more than one million beneficiaries by adding other ministries, and it may include one governorate in service in addition to the capital, confirming its completion at the beginning of next May. He explained that the Authority is open to the private sector by providing services to private institutions, as work is underway to open an electronic platform for those wishing to participate from private hospitals, laboratories, clinics, or pharmacies through a special link and an electronic form, and it will be evaluated by the Authority, which focuses on the quality of health services through The standards it set, stressing that the authority contracts with the institution that verifies the quality of its services and the process of providing services to the insured through the accredited health institution.
Al-Halafi warned that the first phase is experimental and subject to daily evaluation, as there is a daily review of the registration processes and service provision, in addition to the presence of a full team entering the operations hall to monitor them and take the content from the beginning to the end of the services to diagnose the strengths, weaknesses, and challenges for the purpose of addressing them first. He pointed out that the necessary and adequate preparation was the reason for delaying the launch of the project in order to avoid major errors or failures, adding that the Authority had created a form to indicate whether the beneficiary was satisfied or not, as most of the beneficiaries evaluated that the reality of the services provided according to this project was very good, in addition to the professional evaluation of the services provided. It is submitted through the Directorate of Control and Auditing or through inspection teams that go during, before and after the provision of services until the necessary preparation.
