Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: An informed source revealed, today, Sunday (March 17, 2024), that a delegation from the regional government will visit the capital, Baghdad, tomorrow, Monday.
The source said, “A delegation headed by the Minister of Finance in the regional government, Awat Sheikh Janab, will visit Baghdad and meet with the President of the Federal Court, Jassem Al-Amiri, and the Minister of Finance, Taif Sami.”
He added, "The visit is for the purpose of discussing and deliberating on the issue of localization of salaries, and when the process will begin, and whether the funding of the amounts will continue, and also to complete sending the amounts for the salaries of the Peshmerga, the security services, and the Zirvani, so that the regional government can pay the salaries of the employees."
A number of the region's departments went on strike today, Sunday, due to the delay in disbursing employees' salaries for the month of February by more than 17 days, while more than 47 days have passed since the last salary received, which was the salary for the month of January.
