The head of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis Al-Khanjar, confirmed that the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s boycott of the regional parliament elections and its threat to withdraw from the political process “puts the future of Iraq in danger.”
Al-Khanjar said in a statement, “The brothers in the Democratic Party are boycotting the local elections in the region and threatening to leave the political process, putting the entire future of the country in danger.”
The head of the Sovereignty Alliance stressed that "dialogue between Baghdad and Erbil, in the presence of all partners, is the only and optimal way to solve political problems."
He stated that "the Democratic Party is a fundamental pillar of political life in Iraq."
