Mustafa said in a statement, said that "some of the media picked up news of the demonstrations , which began today at the invitation of some political currents which called to change the Commission , " and wondered "what is meant by that is it modifying Commission Act or amendment of the electoral law , or to change the current board of commissioners or Cancel the independent electoral Commission as an institution built by the Constitution and the law and ethane new electoral body. "
Added Mustafa : "If we agree that the constitution and the law that establishes the institutions of the Iraqi state law to chart the way for that either modifying Commission Act or electoral laws and by providing a draft amendment to the legislation to the House of Representatives as a legislative authority under the Constitution , " adding that "if it was intended It is to change the current board of commissioners Constitution and the law to chart the course for this is either activating the committee formed in the House of Representatives to elect a new board of commissioners , especially as it was not the remainder of the life of our council , only seven months or resorting to the path of questioning which is provided by one of the members of the House of Representatives. "
He said Mustafa that "resorting to the street and the mobilization of the masses are shown as if the Commission why all the country 's problems is the fact that leaves us with a question , " pointing out that "it is our right to wonder why the crowds at this particular time, is due to determine the day of the 16th of next September as the date for provincial elections by the Prime Minister, he said that it was for this reason that UNHCR would never be a party to any existing political conflict, or because the Commission directed towards the development of methods and procedures to end the repeated vote and to limit the distortion of the will of the voter. "
He Mustafa said , "Anyone who has information on cases of corruption and lack of neutrality, why did not move and remained silent so far , after three years from the date of the parliament elections and forming a government," he said , "was there any objection to the performance of the parliament or the government, what is the the guilt of the Commission , especially since most of the objectors have effectively blocks in the parliament and the impact of an actor on the government. "
He stressed that "causing disrupt the work of private institutions and that the Commission is working diligently to implement the provincial elections is not in the interests of the Iraqi citizen , not themselves demonstrators , " adding that "it may be a reason to enter Iraq to chaos and the Commission will not be the cause of it."
The thousands of citizens marched, on Wednesday, in Freedom Square district of Karrada in central Baghdad to demand a change of the Independent High Electoral Commission. Q ended
