Shafaq News / The local government of Nineveh province revealed on Sunday, receiving the first installment of its annual budget for 2013 amounting to 100 billion dinars , after being ratified by the Ministry of Planning and receiving it from the Ministry of Finance

    .
“Nineveh province received the first amount of the budget for 2013, amounting to 100 billion dinars from the sum of the total budget of 840 billion $,” Deputy Governor for reconstruction affairs, Mohammed al-Bayati told "Shafaq News”.

“The former provincial council delayed approving the budget for five months and delayed approving it by the Ministry of Planning in order to be launch by the Ministry of Finance”.

“There are meetings held between officials in the province with officials in the ministries of planning and finance on the details of the budget”.

“The rest of the funds will come to the province after ratification by the Ministry of Planning," pointing out that "the province did not stop referring some of projects to implementation,” Bayati said.

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the Iraqi state allocates about 10% of its annual budget to Nineveh province, divided into a number of sections.

But local officials in Nineveh confirm that Nineveh still fail since years in spending its whole share of the budget, although the amounts allocated to are not sufficient, based on the idea of proportionality between capital and population density.
