    Shafaq News / About 250 element of the Awakening forces threatened on Saturday, to leave their security positions in Wajihiya sub-district north east of Baquba , and attributed the reasons to " harassment " of the army, while pointed out that arming Awakening forces is still weak compared with potentials of "terrorist" groups

    “The military forces in Wajihiya area raided homes of the Awakening and confiscated their weapons, although the weapons were for personal use and that raised resentment among Awakening ," threatening " to resign and resolve Awakening if the army continued harassment practices in Wajihiya sub-district ,”The official of Diyala Awakening forces , Sami al-Khazraji told “Shafaq News”.

    The number of elements of the Awakening forces in Diyala is about eight thousands distributors in the general administrative units, as more than a thousand elements were killed by al - Qaeda and allied groups over the past years, according to previous statements by the leaders of the Awakening

    .
    Khazraji warned from “consequences on the security situation and the significant role played by the Awakening in the prosecution of armed groups," and urged” the security authorities to put an end to targeting the Awakening and continuous raids to their homes”.

    The current year has witnessed about 15 attacks that targeted the Awakening forces in several areas of Diyala(57 km north east Baghdad), killing and wounding more than 20 leading elements in the Awakening
