    The announcement by US President Donald Trump of his support for a new US immigration reform bill prepared by Senate members Tom Cotten and David Birdy sparked criticism from the Democratic and Republican parties.
    The New York Times reported Trump moving the issue of immigration reform in the context of his attempts to satisfy the far right, and to ensure that conservative Americans continue to support his administration in the many crises that plague the White House.
    The new bill aims to reduce the number of immigrants to the United States by 50 percent over the next decade by imposing tough legal conditions that limit the ability of US citizens and permanent residents in the United States to help their relatives come to America.
    The law proposes a mechanism for the admission of immigration applicants and the right to permanent residence in the United States on a professional basis and not kinship, requiring the applicant to master English and to have a good financial status that can support his family and not impose any financial burdens on the US government.
    Critics of the new bill said it undermined America's image and image as a country of immigrants from all over the world looking for a better life, adopting class discrimination criteria and setting strict conditions to prevent poor people from entering the United States.
    Speaking at the White House, Trump said that the new plan would strengthen what he called "sacred ties" among American citizens and boost the US economy's competitiveness in the 21st century.
    Since his arrival at the White House six months ago, Trump has sought some electoral promises, stepped up his efforts recently to escape the impasse of Russian intervention in his favor, and opted for the immigration bill following his failure to cancel the Obama Care health reform plan. Was approved seven years ago during the administration of former President Barack Obama.
    Trump's executive decision comes after he entered the White House to prevent the entry of nationals of six Muslim countries, stop the reception of Syrian refugees, build a wall on the Mexican border and deport millions of illegal immigrants as part of an integrated plan adopted by Trump under the slogan " America First "
