Iraq: Slight rise in the inflation index for the month of August

Ministry of planning and development cooperation, Sunday, the slight rise in the inflation index for the month of August, noting that annual inflation has been stable, with the indicator Housing Department continues to significantly affect the high and low inflation.
He said Ministry spokesman Abdel Zahra Al-Hindawi said in an interview for “alsumaria news” that “inflation for the month of August rose slightly by 0.4% compared to prices in July as a result of the stability of prices of some materials at Iraq,” Noting that “the annual inflation for August 2012 until August 2013 saw a stable rate of 0.1%.
He said Abdul Zahra “indicator Housing Department continues to significantly affect the high and low inflation which rose an annual 1.6 percent, pointing out that” prices of food section has seen an annual decrease in the amount of 4%.
Abdul Zahra noted that “the Central Bureau of statistics, Ministry of planning completed report inflation for August 2013 based on field data collection on prices of goods and services of the consumer basket sample outlets in Iraq”, adding that “these are goods and services that ml food and rent, transport and communications, health, education and other than one consumer.
Machine Centre announced for statistics and information technology by 2012, that will use the mechanization in various price collection and specified times instead of the previous paper form, asserting that it would contribute to the speed and accuracy of price collection, correction calculated in case of errors.
The Central Organization for statistics and information technology, the various statistical operations nationwide, and most important work done of general population and housing censuses, statistical operations on all areas (agricultural, industrial, etc.), in addition to collect, consolidate and prepare, analyse and summarize the results of statistical operations in whole or in part.
