    Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri said during his meeting with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubic, that Iraq aspires to a greater role in the reconstruction of affected cities and accelerate the return of displaced persons.
    "The meeting reviewed the most prominent political and security developments in the country, and the efforts of the parliament in legislating important laws," said a statement by the Office of the Speaker of the Parliament, received by Mawazin News, a copy of which said that "Jubouri received in his office the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq Jan Kubic. . The meeting also discussed the issue of aid to the displaced and international efforts to return them to their areas liberated from the control of the organization calling the terrorist.
    "Iraq is looking forward to a greater role by the United Nations to support the humanitarian effort in helping Iraq through the reconstruction of cities affected by military operations against the organization of urging and accelerating the return of displaced families to their areas."
    He added that "the parliament has been able during the past period to pass several important legislation that contribute to the functioning of the State and provide direct service to the Iraqi citizen," pointing out that "the Council is to complete the legislation for the next electoral process to ensure the active participation of the Iraqi people, In addition to the continuation of the parliament's oversight role on state institutions. "
    For his part, praised the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq Jan Kubic, "the efforts of the Speaker of the Parliament to pass laws that will promote stability in the country."
