    BAGHDAD (Reuters) - 
    Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Mahdi al-Alak expressed on Monday the aspirations of the Iraqi government and people to increase the support provided by the United Nations to the file of the reconstruction of liberated cities, including the recently liberated.
    "The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mahdi Al-Alak, received in his office the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubic," said a statement from his press office. "The meeting discussed the current political situation In Iraq, most notably the preparations for the Iraq reconstruction conference to be held in Kuwait next month. " 
    "The two sides discussed the importance of securing a constructive dialogue between all political parties to resolve the outstanding problems between the federal government and the Kurdistan region," he said, adding that the meeting discussed the issue of the upcoming legislative elections and the possibility of holding them on time.
    "The Iraqi government and people are looking forward to increase the support provided by the United Nations to the file of the reconstruction of liberated cities, including recently liberated, as well as intensify efforts to invite international organizations and agencies and donor countries to the reconstruction conference of Iraq, To rebuild the affected areas and bring investment to Iraq. " 
    For his part, Kubic said that "the efforts of the United Nations to provide support to the Iraqi government in the humanitarian response to the displaced and ensure the return of the remainder of them to liberated cities is still continuing," stressing that "the United Nations support for Iraq and overcome all obstacles and provide possible facilities that provide greater participation of Iraqis by setting up On schedule. "
