    China opens first Internet court


    Follow-up / ... opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China's first Internet court in China.

    The decision to set up the court at the 36th session of the CPC Central Committee was part of deepening comprehensive reforms.

    The opening ceremony was attended by Zhou Qiang, chairman of the Supreme People's Court of China and secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee in Zhejiang Province.

    The Internet Court will deal with cases of fraud in online trading, electronic debt contracts concluded, and cases of copyright infringement on the Internet.

    All proceedings of the court, from filing the suit and initiating the proceedings, will take place through the court's website, according to the China Central Television.

    Hearings and online verdict will also be held through real-time video streaming.

    Earlier, it was noted that the city's judicial system was already implementing many cases of cybercrime, which were increasing.
