    Eric Schmidt, Google's former chief executive, predicted that the world's Internet would be divided into two networks over the next 10 years, one led by the United States and the other by China, and that the Internet would be less free and more controlled.
    He said that people will see excellent Chinese leadership of products and services, noting the size of the business and the great wealth that has emerged there as well as the developed foreign trade. But he acknowledged that Beijing's growing economic influence could have political implications for tightening control and control over the Internet.
    Schmidt's predictions come at a time when Google's situation is turbulent as it thinks of returning to the Chinese market, drawing criticism even from its employees and US lawmakers for wanting to cooperate with Beijing in censoring and controlling the Web.
    The US site Interspect has revealed that Google plans to create a search engine to meet the requests of the government of Beijing, which wants to prevent Chinese users to access specific sites, and the freedom to search only in subjects allowed by the government.
