Directorate of Public Passports confirmed that the new system of issuing travel documents will ensure the security aspect, since the personal picture of the citizen and his fingerprint will be taken by specialized officers in the Directorate exclusively.
The director of the Directorate Brigadier Ahmed Abdul Sattar Abdul Razzaq said in a statement
to «morning»: «The length of issuance of passport according to the new system will be faster than before, as well as the absorption of large numbers of transactions and electronic completion with the expansion of information storage operations, Open new offices for passports in Baghdad and the provinces and outside the country ».
"The new mechanism of the system will allow the citizen to fill out the application form for passport and archiving electronic documents, and is characterized by the need to bring personal photographs of citizens wishing to obtain a passport, because the process of taking pictures and fingerprint will be ensured by the competent officer in each Directorate," pointing out that «Work of the new system is continuing in preparation for the opening of passport offices in front of receiving transactions of citizens during the next week».
"The old system was prepared to issue 10,000 passports a day in an approximate manner, but the system that has been put in place will increase the number of passports that have been completed because the Directorate has been keen to increase the number of officers responsible for receiving and promoting transactions to five officers in each office, Of the offices of each directorate ».
"The Directorate has 20 locations outside the country to issue passports, distributed among embassies and consulates of Iraq, including three offices in Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Britain, where the passport is printed inside the consulate or the embassy there."
