Metro station in Petersburg closed because of "suspicious expulsion"

    28/08/2017

The metro station in St. Petersburg on Monday closed the Prospekt Prospechnia subway station in Petersburg because of an unknown package.
"At 08.57 hours, the Prospekt Prosninaia subway station was closed because of the discovery of an unknown parcel," the statement said.
Bombings rocked the Russian city of St. Petersburg on April 3, killing 15 people and injuring 50 others. The Russian Federal Investigative Commission opened a criminal case under "a terrorist act".
The investigation committee later confirmed that the suspect in the bombing of the St. Petersburg subway was a Russian citizen born in Kyrgyzstan (1995), Akbarjon Jalilov, who left a hand grenade at the Blushad Vostania station and blew himself up in a subway car. Eleven people were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the bombing. sf
