Hakim: Basra will not be place for revenge

[ltr]Basra (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, assured that Basra will not be a place for the revenge and is for the peaceful living for all Iraqis. [/ltr]

[ltr]While meeting the head of the Sunni endowment in Basra, Abdul Karim al-Khazraji, he assured “Basra is for all and they will live in it in dignity and peace,” noting that “The attacks are for all Iraqis and request us to unite.” [/ltr]

[ltr]“My visit to Basra will be for all sects,” he added, noting that “The current visit to Basra is due to our duty in spreading peace and intimacy and to show to all the enemies of Iraq that their actions will increase the unity among Iraqis,” appreciating the stance of the local government in Basra over sustaining security.” [/ltr]

[ltr]He called to “Support the local government to sustain security and correct the perceptions over Islam by correcting its aims which are wrongly interpreted by the terrorists.” [/ltr]
