"It is the era of reform, which must start from Basra Al-Fayhaa Iraq's economic kiss and its southern snakes," Hakim said in a tweet at his Twitter account.
He added that "the choice of governor of Basra should not be governed by commercial transactions nor agreements of interest or political scenes or external agendas, this decision must be visually shared by the forces of popular movement and influential tribes and conscious youth and those involved in the draft constitution."
"I reiterate my call for the federalization of Basra as a federation and to make it the economic capital officially and effectively and represent it with what is worthy of the government," he concluded.
