[rtl]The cease-fire between the government and the National Liberation Army (NLA) entered Colombia's last rebel movement on Tuesday, ending a historic conflict with the country's revolutionary movements.[/rtl]
[rtl]The agreement to stop the fighting was concluded on September 4, in the framework of peace negotiations in Quito, capital of neighboring Ecuador, to end the oldest conflict on the American continent, but the agreement will continue until the ninth of January and can be extended.[/rtl]
[rtl]The cease-fire with the National Liberation Army follows a similar operation with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), which included the cessation of hostilities and the disarmament of the largest rebel movement in the country, which includes seven thousand fighters, and turned into a legal political party.[/rtl]
[rtl]On the other hand, the Colombian army has been ordered to suspend its operations against the rebels.[/rtl]
[rtl]A panel of representatives from the United Nations, the government, the rebels and the Catholic Church will verify the cease-fire.[/rtl]
[rtl]The National Liberation Army includes 1,500 fighters, a movement that emerged from a peasant rebellion and inspired by the Cuban Revolution.[/rtl]
[rtl]In this historic agreement with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), President Juan Manuel dos Santos, who leaves power in August 2018, hopes to reach a "full peace" in his conflict-torn country that has killed 260,000 people and lost more than Sixty thousand people, displacing seven million others.[/rtl]
