Miami police kill woman over red signal

The police shot and killed a woman after her car collided with another vehicle and then hit a policeman while trying to escape, the Miami Beach police chief said.
Police chief Daniel Otis said the woman was driving a BMW, speeding past the red sign and striking another vehicle yesterday evening in the heart of Miami Beach's tourist area. According to the agency quoted "Reuters".
He said she tried to escape and hit a policeman, and then the police opened fire on her.
He said the woman had been treated at the scene but later died.
Otis said the condition of the policeman, who was hit by the woman, was stable and was in the hospital. The names of the policemen were not disclosed.
