    US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson confirmed his country's support for the unity of Iraq and does not recognize the referendum held by the Kurdistan region.

    On Monday, Abadi received a phone call from German Foreign Minister Ziegmar Gabriel. He also received a call from the EU High Representative for Foreign and Political Affairs, Federica Mujerini, as well as a third call from Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz. 
    The three officials stressed the unity of Iraq, while stressing the need to focus on fighting and promoting the liberation of all Iraqi territory.
    Abadi stressed, during a conference on Tuesday, that the referendum conducted by the authorities of the Kurdistan region "ended and became a past past and ended the results."
