Iraq compensates North Oil with 200,000 barrels from the south

Iraq's oil ministry said Baghdad on Saturday increased oil exports from the southern Basra region by 200,000 barrels per day to compensate for shortages in the northern Kirkuk fields.
In a statement, Oil Minister Jaber Al-Laibi said the increase in Basra's exports keeps total Iraqi oil production within its OPEC quota.
Oil exports from Kirkuk have fallen due to recent developments in the province when Iraqi forces took control of them as Kurdish forces withdrew.
