     Follow-up / Sky Press:

The US site McClatchy said the UAE had hired a US company with ties to former White House strategic planner Steve Bannon to campaign for Qatar via social media.

The site revealed in a report that Abu Dhabi used the company shortly after Banon left office in the White House.

He said the UAE had paid $ 330,000 to defame Qatar on Facebook, Twitter and others.

The company follows the parent company, which owns Cambridge International, which President Donald Trump used to reach voters, with carefully targeted e-mails during his campaign.

Laban has a stake in Cambridge Analytica, estimated at between $ 1 million and $ 5 million, and was supposed to sell the stake when he started working at the White House.

McClatchy's report revealed that Bannon had ties with UAE officials behind closed doors.

The site pointed out that Bannon visited the UAE last month, met with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, and that he supports the embargo countries on Qatar, namely Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.

Pannon ran the site of Print News, which has published more than 80 titles criticizing Qatar since the embargo began.

The Gulf has been hit by a major crisis since June 5 after Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties with Qatar and imposed punitive measures on the grounds of "supporting terrorism."

For its part, Doha denied the charges against it, saying it faced a campaign of "fabrications" and "lies" aimed at imposing "tutelage" on its national decision.
