Shiite reservations impede Maliki's assumption of the presidency of the National Alliance

     Baghdad / Mohammed Sabah

The differences within the National Alliance overshadowed its positions on the recent crisis between Baghdad and Erbil, since the latter has not held a meeting since the end of the presidency of Hakim last September.
The stalemate over the coalition presidency has shifted to the position of the elections and the preparations needed to make them.
Despite the dissolution of the rule of law, the nomination of its leader Nuri al-Maliki to lead the Shiite alliance, but the reservations of some parties prevent it.
The deadlock in the National Alliance, despite the end of the mandate of the current presidency, has not yet announced the extension of Hakim.
Al-Hakim was chosen in September 2016 as head of the National Alliance's successor to Ibrahim al-Jaafari, who took office since 2010. The choice came after an agreement with the Dawa Party that the presidency of the National Alliance patrol.
And ended the presidency of Hakim early last September, in accordance with the agreement reached by the Shiite parties last year.
Independent MP Rahim al-Darraji attributed the reasons behind the failure to name al-Maliki as head of the National Alliance to "the existence of objections from the Shiite blocs to that," stressing that "the presidency of the coalition is still the wise hand."
Al-Darraji, in a statement to (the extent), describes the National Alliance as "delusional" in reference to the great differences between its components. And confirms that "the presidency of the National Alliance left without announcing the extension of the mandate of Ammar al-Hakim or receipt by others."
The coalition of state law had agreed, early October, the nomination of Nuri al-Maliki as head of the National Alliance.
"The National Alliance is not ready for the elections, and every political entity is working alone to prepare for the upcoming elections," said Darraji.
In turn, the Dawa Party attributed the reasons for the delay naming the leader Nuri al-Maliki as head of the National Alliance, to the objections and reservations expressed by the blocks of virtue and the Sadrists and the Supreme Council on the candidate of the rule of law for the post.
"There is a debate over the nomination of Nuri al-Maliki to head the National Alliance by some figures and blocs," said the MP from the Dawa Party, Rasul Abu Hasna, in a statement to (Al-Mada). He pointed out that "the National Wisdom Movement misrepresented the alternative to give way to keep Hakim as head of the coalition For the longest period. "
In the meantime, revealed a source within the Shiite alliance for the failure of the efforts of some of the Shiite blocs, which were in contact with the Sadrist movement to bring him back to the ranks of the National Alliance.
"The Sadrists have impossible conditions to return to the National Alliance," the source, who spoke to al-Mada, said on condition of anonymity. He pointed out that "
The Shiite source confirms that "the majority of the National Alliance blocs agree with the Sadrist movement that the position of the president of the coalition is not the share of the Dawa bloc, because it has the post of Prime Minister."
The source points out that "there is a great rapprochement between Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and the Sadrist movement on many issues and participants and in the introduction to form a cross-sectarian bloc in isolation of Maliki's wing in the Dawa Party," adding that "the Sadrist movement agreed with the Prime Minister to open an investigation into the case of the fall of the city Mosul. "
But the Liberal bloc denies the existence of negotiations with them to return them to the National Alliance, a memorandum on the conditions of the leader of the Sadrist movement the 14, which he asked the coalition to achieve as a condition for return. MP Abdul Aziz al-Dhalimi said that "our conditions were focused on removing some corrupt figures from the National Alliance and opening the investigation into the fall of the city of Mosul and others." "He said.
