Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Transport and Communications in the Kurdistan Region announced, on Tuesday, the use of an “automation system” to transport goods from the region and to neighboring countries and the region.
Kurdistan Minister of Transport Anu Johar said in a press conference held in Erbil that, for the first time, the “automation” system will be used to transport goods in the ports of the Kurdistan Region, in coordination with the Ministry of Transport in Baghdad, which covers all ports of the Federal Republic of Iraq.
He added that this project will create about 300 job opportunities for young people in the Kurdistan Region alone, explaining that the project also enables us to monitor trucks entering the territory of the region through the ports in transit, and by displaying the goods electronically.
The minister continued by saying: This project comes within the framework of coordination and taking into account the public interests of the Kurdistan Region and all of Iraq with neighboring countries and countries of the region.
