Armed supporters of Da'ash killed six soldiers and wounded four others on a southern island as the army focused on the remaining rebel groups after regaining control of Marawi, a military spokesman said Friday.
"We will track the Abu Sayyaf elements that are still in Basilan," military spokesman Major-General Restituto Padilla told ANC news channel. There were reports of skirmishes this morning. "
"Ten soldiers were wounded but six died while being taken to hospital on Wednesday night after a clash of forces was looking for a commander of the Abu Sayyaf group, Furiji Indama, with militant groups in the town of Sumisib," he said.
