Iraq exports 700,000 dates in one year

The Ministry of Agriculture announced on Wednesday the export of more than 700 thousand tons of dates during the last year 2016, noting that Iranian and Syrian dates enter Iraq illegally.
"Iraq has been able to export more than 700 thousand tons of dates to all countries during the past year 2016," said spokesman Hamid Nayef, noting that "the number of palm trees in Iraq reached 16 million palm trees after Iraq was in the center The first with 30 million palm trees. "
He pointed out that "the wars and diseases of palm trees led to the decline of palm trees in the country," stressing that "the Ministry of Agriculture launched the initiative of one million palm trees to bring the country to a place on it."
