Justice Minister Haider Zamili expressed his surprise at the objections of human rights organizations to the death sentences imposed on those convicted of terrorist acts. He stressed that the ministry is a party that implements judicial rulings and is committed to constitutional texts and humanitarian standards. This came during a meeting with the Minister of Justice Zamili, in his office in the ministry, Assistant US Ambassador to Iraq. Zamili stressed that "the ministry is concerned with the implementation of the death sentences against the perpetrators and this aspect falls within its competence in the implementation of the judgments of the Iraqi judiciary."
