    The National Investment Authority announced on Monday that it is preparing to rehabilitate and develop glass plants in Ramadi as an investment opportunity, noting that the target capacity is 500 thousand tons per year.
    The body said in a statement, received "the economy News" a copy of it, "Iraq will be presented during the Kuwait International Conference, which will be held during February 12-14, and within the medium projects rehabilitation and development of glass laboratories in Ramadi as an investment opportunity," indicating that " Known uses such as glass buildings, car glass and mirrors to reach 13 species.
    The agency added that "Iraq's need of flat glass material is doubling annually and the amount of 1500 tons per day is enough to meet the need of the country," pointing out that "the privileged location allows the export of this product to neighboring countries, whether crude or final production."
    "The production capacity of the project is 500 thousand tons per year, divided into two phases according to market capacity and types," noting that "the annual production cost of 100% for the project to produce 700 tons per day of 94 billion dinars and the simple return is 16%."
    "The same flat glass plants can be implemented in both Karbala and Al-Muthanna provinces," the agency said.
    The company is the only manufacturer of glass and ceramics belonging to the Ministry of Industry located in Iraq, which is located in Anbar province, but it became its machinery in terms of lines and machinery and technology used obsolete and low production capacity and its operation became economically inefficient, especially after the events of 2003.
