BAGHDAD, Iraq, Jan 31 (KUNA) - The Najaf provincial council denied on Wednesday that any force from Baghdad had been handed over to the airport administration.
The Chairman of the Security Committee in the Council, Khalid al-Jeshmi said in a press interview that "a delegation headed by Director of the Civil Aviation Authority at Baghdad airport Ali Kazem, arrived today to the province and submitted a book to receive the management of the airport."
"The delegation was answered by a letter to the Najaf Council stating that the administration of the airport should be exclusively from the province, and the delegation understood the matter and left the province," he denied, "denying the arrival of any force to take over the airport."
Meanwhile, local reports confirmed that the Najaf airport administration refused to hand over the airport administration to a government force sent by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
