A source in Najaf province said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi sent a director of Najaf airport to take over his duties, backed by a security force.
The source told Ashqaf News that "Abadi, after the airport board refused to hand over the administration to the prime minister, the latter decided to send the director of Baghdad airport Ali Jawad, accompanied by a security force to take over the administration of Najaf airport."
"Jawad came to the airport accompanied by a force of seven shaded cars to protect him," the source said. "Negotiating the next force from Baghdad with the administration of the airport to be handed over administratively."
