    The United States on Friday reiterated its commitment to support the financing of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to restore stability in Iraq, while reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that its humanitarian assistance reaches vulnerable communities in Iraq.

     
    "The US ambassador to Iraq, Douglas Silliaman, accompanied the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Liz Grande, today, to visit several sites of the Nineveh Plain to highlight," a statement from the US Embassy in Baghdad said. On the partnership between the United States and the United Nations in support of the Iraqi government's efforts to help vulnerable minorities to return to their homes after the liberation of their areas from the urging.

    The embassy added that "during his visit to the historic cities of Hamdania and Karamlis, which are inhabited by Christians and are the home of Syriac Catholics and Chaldean Catholics respectively, Sileman reiterated the commitment of the United States Government to support UNDP funding for the restoration of stability," explaining that " , Has disbursed $ 190.3 million to the Facility for Reintegration Facility, which includes a recent contribution of $ 75 million, of which the United States has allocated, in part, to projects specifically located in the Nineveh Plain, Guided also to provide an additional contribution of $ 75 million for the year 2018 ".

    "We are committed to supporting UNDP programs such as these so as to stabilize all displaced Iraqis to return to their liberated and stable areas," Sileman said at the inauguration ceremony of the Hamdania hospital after initial rehabilitation by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Explaining that "the US government has recently approved the grant of $ 2.6 million for the rehabilitation of the United Nations program for the hospital and the purchase of necessary medical equipment." 

    "We are very grateful to the United States Government for its contribution, as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is implementing more than 1,000 projects throughout Nineveh province," UNDP Resident Representative Liz Grande said.

    "The visit included meetings with Syriac Catholic and Chaldean religious leaders and a tour of the primary health care center in Karamlis, another UNDP stabilization project which will be partially funded by the United States," the embassy said in a statement. 

    "The United States is committed to ensuring that its humanitarian assistance and the financing of stability reach vulnerable communities in Iraq, including ethnic and religious minorities that have suffered under an authoritarian occupation and with the support of the US government and other international donors, All backgrounds to rebuild their homes and communities in liberated areas. "
