    The Federal Supreme Court announced on Sunday the possibility of establishing the Iraqi National Olympic Committee in accordance with the democratic approach and the provisions of the International Olympic Charter, pointing out that the Constitution did not specify a specific entity without the sponsorship of sport. 

    "The Supreme Federal Court has considered a case concerning Order No. (2) of 12 June 2003 concerning the disbandment of Iraqi entities," the court's spokesman Ayas al-Samuk said in a press release. "The plaintiff's appeal focused on paragraph 7, specifically the inclusion of the National Committee The Olympic Games solved. "


    "The court found that the cancellation of these entities was because of the use of the former regime to serve his illegal purposes in the persecution and torture of the Iraqi people."


    He explained that "the court confirmed that the text contested unconstitutionality does not contravene the provisions of Article (36) of the Constitution, which obliged the state to sponsor and encourage sports and athletes, as it did not specify an entity or shorten to do so to a certain committee to carry out this task.


    He pointed out that "the ruling of the Federal Supreme Court found that the contested decision does not violate articles (2 / c) and (13 / second) of the Constitution where it is possible to re-establish the Olympic Committee in accordance with new frameworks in line with the democratic rise that Iraq took after the fall of the former regime, International Olympic Charter ". 


    He pointed out that "the defendant, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, in addition to his job, stated in his list that the House of Representatives is in the process of enacting a law for the Iraqi National Olympic Committee to ensure the legal basis for sports activities in Iraq, and then decided to respond to the right not to rely on the support of the Constitution.
