The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced Monday that it has pledged $ 130 million to support the humanitarian situation in Iraq.
"The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announces at the NGO Conference in support of the humanitarian situation in Iraq the implementation of programs worth 130 million dollars," the official KUNA news agency said.
The Kuwait conference of donors for the reconstruction of Iraq began Monday with the participation of hundreds of countries and international and regional organizations, which will continue until Wednesday.
In parallel, a conference of non-governmental organizations to support the humanitarian situation in Iraq will be held on Monday, with the participation of the President of the Islamic Charitable Organization Abdullah Al-Ma'touq, the Chairman of the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq, Abdul Karim Al-Faisal and the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations Partnership for the Middle East and Central Asia , Rashid Khalikov.
