Iraq has taken a positive stance with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Abdul Razzaq al-Issa said.

"Minister Abdul-Razzaq al-Issa discussed with the international delegation the termination of Iraq's obligations to destroy the remnants and sites of chemical weapons," the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology said in a statement received by Baghdad Post.

"Iraq has taken positive measures with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to comply with the international provisions in this regard and in order to make Iraq a model for transparent and serious cooperation and an example," he said. Clear to the peace industry and contribute to the strengthening of international security and stability. "

Al-Issa also expressed "optimism about the indicators recorded by the team of international inspectors on the work of Iraqi experts in the destruction of remnants of chemical weapons of the former regime in accordance with international techniques and specifications in force in the world."

In conclusion, the final international report to be announced in The Hague in mid-March described Iraq's official release of chemical weapons and its remnants as "an important historical event."
