     >>> The Ministry of Transport is preparing to conclude the air transport agreement with the Saudi side, and a memorandum of understanding for Iraq’s accession to the Riyadh Agreement on inspection and control of ships and the extension of railway lines between the two countries. Transport Minister Kazem Al-Hamami headed the second meeting of the Transport, Border and Ports Committee to discuss the procedures to meet the invitation of the Saudi side to the president and members of the committee to visit the Kingdom in order to discuss the programs of developing the reality of transport between the two countries, The most important of which is the conclusion of the air transport agreement between the two countries, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding for Iraq’s accession to the Riyadh Convention on inspection and control of vessels that are still under implementation. He added that the committee will present all the paragraphs of the report with the Saudi side, which was mentioned in the minutes of the first meeting of the committee and activating them and taking the necessary decisions, including the extension of a railway between the two countries, activating the fields of land and sea transport between them. Al-Rubaie said that the head of the Border Crossings Authority will provide the committee with a detailed report on the developments of the Arar border crossing, based on the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries, noting that the meeting was attended by the head of the Border Crossings Authority, the senior undersecretary of the Ministry of Construction, The directors of the two public companies of Iraq Railways and land transport, and the Assistant Director General of the General Company of Iraqi Ports.
