    Transport Minister Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli discussed during his presidency of the meeting of the Transport Committee, Border Crossings and Ports, and within the work of the Iraqi - Saudi Coordinating Council, the work mechanism for the opening of the border crossing point (Arar - Jadidah - Arar) for the passage of trucks and cars, after Iraq received from the Saudi side the entire project of the Arar port. With its facilities and equipment.
    In a statement to the ministry, Al-Furat News received a copy of it, Al-Shibli confirmed that "by following up with the Border Ports Authority to implement automation of customs procedures in order to unify customs tariffs in all Iraqi ports," referring to "coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on the Memorandum of Customs cooperation between the two countries. In preparation for their entry into force. "
    For his part, the Saudi side affirmed "the Kingdom's readiness to discuss the electronic linking process for the new and Arar outlets, upon completion of the automation of customs procedures at the Arar port, in order for it to be ready for the process of linking with the automated system of Saudi customs."  
    He continued, "It was agreed to form a technical team from the General Company for Maritime Transport, the General Company for Iraqi Ports, the General Authority for Ports and the Saudi Public Transport Authority to activate maritime transport between the ports of Umm Qasr and Saudi ports for passengers and goods."
