Japan carries out the death penalty against 13 people

On Tuesday, Japan will execute 13 members of the "Day of Resurrection" group, coinciding with the 23rd anniversary of the Tokyo subway attack by the Um Shinrikyo group.
The founder of Om Shinrikyo Shoko Asahara, his real name Chizu Matsumoto, and 12 of his followers were sentenced to death for the attack and other crimes.
Asahara and 12 of his former followers are expected to carry out the death penalty at any time now after the end of the group-related trials on a series of crimes that killed 29 people in January.
The attack on nerve gas on the subway in Tokyo killed 13 people, and caused the disease of thousands of others, according to the newspaper "Guardian".
