    [ltr]The White House announced that President Donald Trump and the North Korean leader had not spoken directly, denying that Trump had held "direct high-level" talks with Kim personally.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"President Trump said the administration is conducting high-level direct negotiations," White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders told a news conference. "He does not personally lead those talks," White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders told a news conference.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Trump said Tuesday that his country is in direct talks with Pyongyang. "We have direct talks at very high levels, at very high levels, with North Korea ... we will see what happens, because the outcome is what matters," Trump said.     [ltr]When Sanders was asked about Pompeo's visit to North Korea, she merely said that "the administration does not comment on CIA director flights."[/ltr]
