Ambassador Khalil Ismail al-Moussawi presented his credentials as an authorized and extraordinary ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Japan to the Emperor of Japan Akihito in the Imperial Palace building.
"Ambassador Moussawi conveyed the greetings of President Fuad Masum to the Emperor and thanked the Iraqi people to the Japanese people for their role in supporting Iraq," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
For his part, the Japanese Emperor thanked the President of the Republic for these greetings and wished him good health and well-being. He also expressed the wish that the relations between the two countries will witness further development and prosperity.
The credentials ceremony was attended by the Japanese Minister of Science and Technology.
