The United States hopes to develop relations with Iraq in various fields
The United States expressed its hope for the development of relations with Iraq in various fields.
"Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim received a telephone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday evening on the occasion of assuming the portfolio of the foreign ministry in the elected Iraqi government," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said in a statement received by Al-Nour News.
He added that "the US minister expressed the hope that bilateral relations between the two friendly countries will see further development and prosperity in all fields."
The Iraqi Foreign Minister stressed "the work on the development of common relations between the two countries," praising "the important and vital role played by the United States of America in support of Iraq in the face of terrorism during the last period," according to the statement.
